Dr. Porco has joined DiBartola Dental as an associate dentist and for the convenience of our patients will soon be offering evening and weekend appointments, as well as standard hours. The main beneficiary of my well-rounded education is undoubtedly my patients. When a patient comes here in need, a diverse knowledge of not only dentistry, but the basic sciences as well, allows me to provide more comprehensive care. I was fortunate to receive outstanding education in both areas, learning the sciences during my undergraduate years at Johns Hopkins University and learning dentistry at the Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry. With knowledge in areas such as restorative dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery, I am able to provide prompt, definitive care to a greater number of patients.
Participating in community service is essential for overall growth as a health professional. Practicing dentistry can sometimes lead to dentists seeing only the teeth and not the person behind those teeth. I feel that community service gives me the opportunity to connect with people and provide them with the dental care they deserve. Seeing patients as more than just a set of teeth is essential to providing the highest possible level of care.
Gaining experience is a key factor in developing as a dentist. Books can teach quite a bit, but the only way to perfect your craft is to perform procedures repeatedly until you master them. The large amount of work I have been able to perform in such a short time at DiBartola Dental has really allowed me to improve my abilities as a dentist which will in turn help me to better serve my patients.
In dentistry, more than many other professions, staying active in the profession is very important. Dentistry requires constant work in order to remain current with technology and techniques to best serve my patients. It is my duty to be up to date on how to best provide treatment.
